Day 9 - Joplin, MO thru Kansas to OKC in a rental car
The ride was quieter, faster and included some annoying auto drive features that Angry Bird can not boast of. BUT THIS IS NO WAY TO DRIVE ROUTE 66!!!
So the only segment of todays trip that wasn't under the Interstate was from Joblin through the state of Kansas for only 13 miles and a couple small villages in Oklahoma, before getting on the interstate heading to pick up Dick in OKC.
But it was an interesting short segment, and will probably be done again when we get the truck back on the road One of the auto shop fellows told me I should see the Rainbow Bridge just before Galena, KS and told me how to get there. Unfortunately, all the rain had the road leading up to the bridge underwater, so nothing to see except water...and turtles on the move!
Stateline, MO crossing into Kansas

That turtle does not seem to be moving.
ReplyDeleteKatrina, we said the same thing about your dad in his office st work. Hope Angry Bird is on the road Monday, it's just not the same in a rented car. Did you look for a vehicle similar to the Bird to rent?
