Day 10 - OKC back to Joplin !!

We took advantage of the rental car quiet and thus faster ride to cover the entire trip back to Joplin on the original section of Route 66.  It was much easier for me to drive while we concurred on the next point of interest and he navigated us to it.  We were able to cover a lot more ground by teaming up.  Over 250 miles of all 66 with many interesting sights.  I will try to summarize in pictures:

We traveled out of OKC via the state capitol, which was the first notable landmark heading east from the motel.

After leaving OKC the next sight that popped up along the route was this round barn in Arcadia:

Ruins of old motels and gas stations were especially of interest.  So many stories in those stones.

Survivor gas stations were plentiful too, but became less of interest the more we saw of them.  This one was a popular design for Conoco.  Chandler, OK.
