Day 7 - Uranus and Devils Elbow

Like I said, a long day.  The rain stopped by the time I got into traffic in St. Louis and stayed dry until I reached Springfield at 7:30 PM.  In fact the sun was coming out.

Now?  Thunder storm currently taking place.  May be another wet drive tomorrow.

I will catch up with Day 7 in the morning.  That and a travel plan!

Good night

Finishing up yesterdays entries we have the ultimate huskerville named Uranus, MO  With such a name, the fudge they sell (in many shapes and forms, but all resembling, you know - stuff from Uranus...)

I was stopped by the local police, where their motto is shown on their front fender.

Inside, you could find all sorts of souvenirs with similar catchy phrases.  Sorry, I just couldn't see wearing this stuff.

Also home to the worlds largest belt buckle.  Huh??

They also worked aliens into their theme park.

I had one more stop at Devils Elbow, just down the road from Uranus, but it is time to hit the road.  On to OKC today where I pick up my traveling partner, Dick S. for the rest of the way.

  2. It would be unfortunate to live in a town whose only claim to fame was being a standing joke....but as an outsider I do find it pretty funny.🤣
