Day 7 - In search of brunch - Litchfield, MO
I had read of the Ariston Restaurant in Litchfield run by the same family since 1929. Beause I didn't have breakfast or lunch, I figured it would be a timely stop. Couldn't find it. Went on these old sections of road (yeah, I know I said I wouldn't). It was scenic. In a wet sort of way. Then I swore off any more old road detours.
Just before this, after the brick bridge, I came through this little village. The old bank had been converted to their post office. That is an interesting aspect of 66 - many buildings have been re-purposed into modern functions. But you have to be on the lookout for the period correct facade.

ReplyDeleteQuite different from the west coast where we have a fraction of the history of the east, but are in a pretty big hurry to tear down most anything that starts to resemble "old". (not that there's anything wrong with that.😉)
